Jade Farrington has been passionate about horses her entire life, starting out with My Little Ponies and unicorns and progressing to the typical child who begged for a horse. At the age of 12, she finally got her first horse, a 25yr old arab mare. Now with over 25 years experience in the equestrian industry, she is an asset to any facility or organization!
After receiving 4 years of western riding instruction, Jade apprenticed under the coach and assisted in lessons, public trail rides, horse training, breeding, feeding regimes, scheduled & emergency veterinary appointments, herd management protocols, quarantine protocols, vaccine, deworming & farrier scheduling and appointments and much more! At the age of 23, she began to pursue professional qualifications & certifications through Equestrian Canada & Ontario Equestrian and has since acquired National Coaching Certification Program certificate & Western Rider Instructor of Beginners.
Jade continued to pursue knowledge and skills and acquired her exercise license, pony license and groom license with the Ontario Racing Commission which she maintained for two years, after which she apprenticed under an AQHA trainer for another 2 years acquiring a specialized skills set and substantial experiences to add to her repertoire.
Completing her Equine & Canine First Aid Instruction Certification, allowed her to promote and teach the maintenance of health and well-being of horses and dogs. Passionate about teaching this fit in well with her other qualifications. In addition she completed her Facility Management Certificate from the University of Guelph – Equine.
Not only has Jade worked professionally in the equestrian industry, but she has also worked in several administrative positions, utilizing her bilingualism. Jade is customer service driven, has great organizational skills, has worked with accounts payables & receivables & utilized many software programs.Jade also has a Diploma as a Developmental Services Worker, working in the community as an Educational Assistant and Support Worker for 7 years. This degree provided many skill sets beneficial to working with the public, families, children, and different learning styles & cognitive & physical capacities.
